For a modern day, step back in time take a bus or cab to Freemont Street which is the downtown section of Las Vegas. It is located a few miles from the strip and is where there is a concentration of old Vegas style hotels and casinos and some souvenir shops all under the canopy where the experience takes place. That is the Fremont Street Experience where over two million choreographed lights, set to music, creates a show on the screened canopy above. There are a variety of shows running every hour from dusk to midnight.
Neon Museum
While in the downtown area, visitors can enjoy a unique adventure by finding the 10 refurbished historic neon signs. They are part of the Neon Museum and are along the Third Street and Fremont Street area. They include signs from the Nevada Hotel, The Flame Restaurant and the famed Hacienda Horse and Rider. Continue the historic tour by visiting the neon bone yard, where travelers can continue the historic trail. This historic graveyard is a three acre area and that has over 150 signs, (there is a charge for the bone yard tour).
