Las Vegas Fashion Show

Las Vegas Fashion Show

The opening set simulates the Neon Bone yard of Las Vegas. It is here our narrator; host Ernie makes the history of Las Vegas come to life before our eyes. Vegas the Show is not impersonations, but rather an energetic telling of the history of Las Vegas performance. It highlights many of the scenes and styles that automatically come to mind as one thinks of the Las Vegas Strip. In the show the performers are all excellent at what they do. The singing and the dancing are great and the presentation is much more enjoyable than the attempts in other shows to impersonate. The audience can enjoy the abilities of the performers and be carried back to the history without the concern of how accurately the performers present the original star. The live music adds to the authentic nature of the production.

The Las Vegas Showgirl

Both the opening number and the closing number are a salute to, perhaps, the most renowned feature of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas showgirl. These showgirls are complete with the feathers and rhinestones. They set the mood for a history of Las Vegas and end with the glitz and glamour that have made Las Vegas. Several of the standard expectations of Las Vegas are also presented. The outstanding tap routine shows the talent that is present in the performers. The Cigarette girl captures a bygone era that is often remembered in the movies and by everyone who was given a yo-yo that lights up. The magician is also a staple of Las Vegas entertainment and Vegas the Show has an excellent performer who mystifies the audience.

Lounge Singers and the Rat Pack

When anyone thinks back on Las Vegas they most likely think of a Lounge singer and Louie Prima was the epitome of this genre. Vegas honors him and the entire group of performers who entertained in this style. The singing and jokes of the Rat Pack feature familiar scenes that may never have really happened, but are a part of the memory that was Las Vegas. "Luck Be a Lady" and "The Candy Man" show the skills of the performers and resists the attempt to impersonate. Liberace is presented via a puppet that highlights Liberace's performance skills and eccentricities. The Can -Can scenes remind the audience that Las Vegas is an extension of the “wild west”. And the Wild West always seemed to have fascination with the French and the “high” European culture it represented.
