For many, it is a tradition. Hop on a late Thursday or Friday flight landing a few hours later in Las Vegas, Nevada. After a weekend of playing hard, shopping fast, and eating well, visitors flop happily into their airplane seats for the return trip home. An overheard exchange between seatmates runs along the lines of, “I love Vegas but two or three days here is enough!”
There is however, another Las Vegas, one that invites a longer visit to fully experience the history and natural beauty of the region. Spending a week exploring the Las Vegas Valley without setting foot in a casino is (surprisingly) not a difficult challenge at all.
Fall, winter and spring in the Las Vegas Valley bring warm temperatures, sunny skies and little wind. This is the Mojave Desert so rain is rare, making for perfect days for outdoor activities and exploring. Built along the eastern slopes of the Spring Mountain range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Las Vegas offers activities for all ages and interests.
